If you're an avid rule-follower, it is frustrating to get called out as a punk anyways. You've worked hard to be a lawful and diligent citizen by abiding by the rules, but it seems like good intentions go nowhere in a world where whistleblowers lurk at every corner. This is always true when it comes to an HOA. If you've ever lived in a community that has an HOA board, you know all too well that Karens and Kevins are the types to create a witch-hunt for any (and all) reasons. You may be minding your own business and going about your daily life only to be reported by a bored board member, who finds meaning in their life by narcing on all the neighbors.

If your lawn is too long, you could get reported to the HOA. If your mailbox dangles slightly to the left, you're probably going to get reported. And if you're going 1mph over the speed limit, you can flush your good-merit tokens down the drain. In this case, one man had done nothing wrong when driving through his HOA-run neighborhood. After installing 'SLOW' signs on every corner, OP made sure to drive with extra care, often getting passed up by cyclists, gold carts, and old ladies. But that wasn't enough for one of his particularly bossy neighbors.
